Appy’s MCP Server: Create and Measure Smart Links From Your AI Assistant
Connect Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor or VS Code to Appy and ask for links and click numbers in plain words. What it does, three short conversations, who it’s for and how you stay in control.
Most link work is a small question
Which campaign pulled its weight last week? Did anyone scan the poster? Can someone make a link for Thursday’s newsletter? None of it is hard, but each one means opening the dashboard, finding the link, picking dates and reading a chart.
Now you can ask your AI assistant instead. Appy’s MCP server connects Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code to your account. Your assistant creates and edits links, ranks them by clicks and reads their numbers day by day. On Enterprise it also knows which links brought installs and revenue.

Ask for a link, get a working one
One request covers where iPhones go, where Android phones go, what everyone else sees and whether your UTM tags survive.

You
Make a link for the spring campaign that opens our app on iPhone and Android, sends everyone else to acme.com/spring and keeps our UTM tags.
Assistant
Done: appy.to/spring is live. iPhones and Android phones open your app, or the right store if it isn’t installed yet. Everyone else lands on acme.com/spring, and your UTM tags are passed along.
Which link won last week, and how
The second question leans on the first. The assistant keeps the same week and the same link without being told.

You
Which links got the most clicks last week?
Assistant
spring led with 4,812 clicks, more than twice app-download. The poster QR code came fourth with 877.
You
How did spring do day by day?
Assistant
It opened strongest, with 1,204 clicks on Monday, the day it went live, and slid to 340 by Sunday. Friday was the one bump, at 707.
Past the store: installs and revenue
With the Appy SDK in your app, your assistant can follow a link past the app store.

How many installs did the app get last week, how many came from our links, and what did they bring in?
Assistant
812 installs: 596 through your links and 216 organic. In the app, 231 purchases added up to $5,108.90. spring led with 312 installs, and its users spent $2,318.40 of that.
Who it’s for
Marketing and growth teams
- Campaign links for newsletters, ads and posters, made in a sentence
- Weekly numbers without opening the dashboard
- Quick checks before a meeting: what worked, and where the clicks came from
Product and engineering teams
- Links created and fixed without leaving the editor
- Bulk changes, like moving every link to a new page, checked before they run
- On Enterprise: installs and revenue per link, next to the code
You stay in control
It asks before it changes anything
Edits and deletions wait for your yes. Reading numbers never touches your links, and a deleted link keeps its name so nobody else can claim it.
It only sees your account
Your links and your numbers, nothing from anyone else.
Every teammate gets their own key
Revoke one in the dashboard and it stops working right away, while everyone else keeps going.
Keys can’t make new keys
Only a person signed in to the dashboard can create one, so an assistant can never hand out access.
Business or Enterprise
Links and clicks come with Business. Installs and revenue need the Appy SDK, so they come with Enterprise.

Frequently asked questions
What is an MCP server for links?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets AI assistants work with other products. Appy’s MCP server lets your assistant create, change and delete smart links and read their clicks, in your account only.
Which AI assistants can use Appy’s MCP server?
Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor and VS Code each have a ready-made setup, and other assistants that support MCP work too. Chat apps that only run in a web browser can’t connect yet.
Can I use it as a URL shortener from my assistant?
Yes. Ask for a link and you get a short appy.to address with the name you want, or a random one. Unlike a plain shortener, the same link can open your app, send phones to the right store and count every click.
Can the assistant see other accounts’ links?
No. Each key belongs to one account, and the assistant only sees that account’s links and numbers.
What happens to my keys if I downgrade?
They stop working until the account is back on Business or Enterprise. They stay listed in the dashboard, so you can still revoke them.
Where do developers find the setup details?
In the MCP server documentation, which covers each assistant step by step, plus limits and error handling.

Ask for your next link instead of building it
The MCP server comes with the Business plan at $39.99 a month, along with the REST API, 500 links and up to 10 keys. Enterprise adds the SDK and install attribution.
