App Store Link by Country: How to Send Every Market to the Right Store
A Google Play link is the wrong door for part of your audience. How to set up one app link that sends Android users in Russia to RuStore, Samsung and Xiaomi phones to their own stores, Huawei to AppGallery and everyone else to Google Play or the App Store, and an honest look at when a phone’s brand can be recognised.
Set up a store link that knows the country
- Galaxy Store, GetApps and RuStore on every plan
- Country rules on Pro
- Same link and QR code everywhere
Why one Google Play link is not enough
Most Android campaigns point at Google Play and stop there. That works for most of the world and quietly fails where people install from somewhere else. In Russia, RuStore comes preinstalled on phones sold in the country under government rules (TASS, August 2023), and its audience reached 68.4 million people a month in July 2026, according to Mediascope figures published by RuStore. Huawei phones released after May 2019 have no Google Play at all. Samsung and Xiaomi phones do have Play, but both makers run their own stores, and if your app is featured there you want those users on that listing.
You could print a different QR code for every market. Or you can keep one link and let it decide at the moment of the tap: which phone is this, which country is it in, and where is your app listed.

The order the link checks things in
When someone taps the link, Appy goes down a short list and stops at the first match. The order only matters when two rules could both apply, such as a Samsung phone in Russia.
- 1
Is it a Huawei, Samsung or Xiaomi phone Appy can recognise, and did you add that store?
That phone’s own store
- 2
Is it an Android phone in a country you added a rule for?
The store you set for that country
- 3
Is it an Android phone in Russia, and did you add RuStore?
RuStore
- 4
Is it an iPhone, an iPad or another Android phone?
App Store or Google Play

When Appy can tell it’s a Samsung or a Xiaomi
This is the part most guides skip. A link can only route by brand when the browser reveals which phone it is, and the most popular browser on Android stopped doing that. Since Chrome 110 (February 2023), Chrome describes every Android phone the same way, with no maker and no model, so a Galaxy owner tapping your link in Chrome looks like any other Android user.
Two kinds of visit still give the phone away. Samsung Internet, the browser that ships on every Galaxy, names itself, and Xiaomi’s own browser does the same on Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones. The browsers built into Instagram, Facebook and similar apps usually report the exact model on Android 15 and older. Android 16 trims that as well, so this group will shrink.
To keep expectations honest: Samsung Internet carried 3.5% of mobile web traffic worldwide in September 2026 (StatCounter). A Galaxy Store link reaches the Samsung owners who use it and the in-app taps that still name the model, not every Samsung owner. Everyone Appy can’t place follows your Android route: a matching country rule, RuStore in Russia, otherwise Google Play. Nobody is sent to a store their phone doesn’t have.
Set it up in five minutes
Start with your website
Create a link and add the page where computers and anything unrecognised should land. Every Appy link has one, so nobody hits a dead end.
Add the two big stores
Paste your App Store and Google Play links. Most of your visitors will end up in one of these two.
Add the brand stores you are listed in
AppGallery, Galaxy Store, GetApps and RuStore each have their own field. Fill in only the stores where your app is live; an empty field falls through to Google Play. The RuStore field is used for Android phones in Russia.
Add country rules where you need them
Another country with a store of its own gets a country rule: pick the country and paste the link, up to 50 per link. Belarus is a common one, since RuStore opened local payments there in August 2026 (ComNews). A rule can point at any web address, your own download page included.
Save and keep sharing the same link
The short link and its QR code don’t change, so codes that are already printed pick up the new routes straight away.
What a country rule list looks like
Three common setups. The store in a rule is whatever address you paste; you are not limited to a fixed list.

- KRSouth KoreaONE Storeonestore.co.kr/…
- CNChinaYour download pageyourapp.com/cn
- *Every other countryGoogle Play
Check it before the campaign goes out
Open the link on an iPhone, an ordinary Android phone and, if you have one, a Galaxy with Samsung Internet. To watch the RuStore route or a country rule work, connect a phone through a VPN in that country and tap the link again. The VPN point cuts both ways: someone in Russia browsing through a foreign VPN gets your usual Android route, which is why the Google Play listing still matters.
After launch, the link’s analytics show where people went. RuStore, Galaxy Store and GetApps visits count as store visits in the “Where visitors went” chart, next to the App Store and Google Play, and Pro adds the split by country.
What it costs
The Galaxy Store, GetApps and RuStore fields work on every plan, Free included, just like AppGallery. Country rules come with Pro. Your link limit stays the same either way.

Country routing questions
Can one app link send people to a different store depending on their country?
Yes. Paste your RuStore link into its own field and Android visitors in Russia go there. For other countries, add a country rule and Android visitors from that country go to the store you set. Everyone else keeps their usual route, and the link and its QR code stay the same.
Do RuStore and country rules apply to iPhones?
No. iPhones and iPads always go to your App Store link, and Apple opens the right country’s App Store on its own, as long as the link has no country code in it. RuStore and country rules are for Android, where the store itself changes from market to market.
Which wins for a Samsung phone in Russia, Galaxy Store or RuStore?
If Appy recognises the Samsung and you added a Galaxy Store link, Galaxy Store. Otherwise it goes to RuStore. To send every Android phone in Russia to RuStore, leave the Galaxy Store field empty.
Why doesn’t every Samsung phone go to Galaxy Store?
Chrome on Android no longer says which brand the phone is, so a Galaxy owner using Chrome looks like any other Android user. Appy recognises Samsung phones in Samsung Internet and in many in-app browsers, and sends the rest along your Android route instead of guessing.
How does Appy know where the visitor is?
From their internet connection at the moment of the tap. Someone on a VPN is routed by the VPN’s country, so keep your Google Play link in place for people in Russia who browse through a foreign VPN.
Do I need to reprint my QR codes?
No. The routes live on the link, not in the QR code, so every change applies to codes you have already printed.
