Custom Product Page and Custom Store Listing Links: Send Each Campaign to Its Own Store Page

Apple lets you build 70 custom product pages and Google Play 50 custom store listings, each with its own URL. How the two URLs work, how to put both behind one link per campaign, what the custom product page deep link really changes, and where to read the results without an MMP.

One ad, one store page

Your yoga ad shows someone stretching on a mat. Your App Store page opens with a calorie counter. The person who tapped wonders whether this is the right app, and the ad pays for that doubt. Both stores let you fix it with extra versions of your store page, each with its own screenshots, text and URL.

Apple calls them custom product pages, Google Play calls them custom store listings, and Apple Ads and Google Ads let you pick them inside the ad tool. Everything else, from a Meta ad to a creator’s bio to a poster, needs the page’s URL, and each URL works on one platform only. This guide covers that gap: one link per campaign that opens the matching page on each phone, and numbers you can read without an MMP.

Two URLs, two kinds of ID

An Apple custom product page URL is your normal App Store URL plus ppid and a UUID. You don’t pick it: App Store Connect generates the URL when you create the page, and editing the page later doesn’t change it. If you turn a page off, Apple sends its URL to your default page, so an old link never dead-ends.

Google works the other way round. You type the parameter yourself, it has to be unique across your listings, and it may only use lowercase letters, digits, periods, hyphens, underscores and tildes. Name it after the campaign: yoga reads better in a report than csl-07.

A custom product page URL

apps.apple.com/us/app/fitly/id1234567890?ppid=eb2b3606-2fef-4aab-a54e-b2e5547c9bc3&pt=118445&ct=yoga-spring

  1. apps.apple.com/us/app/fitly/id1234567890

    Your App Store page

The same address as your default product page.

  2. ?ppid=eb2b3606-2fef-4aab-a54e-b2e5547c9bc3

    Custom product page ID

Generated by App Store Connect. It stays the same when you edit the page.

  3. &pt=118445&ct=yoga-spring

    Campaign tokens

Your provider token and a campaign name of up to 30 characters. Appy adds them on Pro.

The ppid format comes from Apple’s StoreKit documentation. Campaign token rules are from App Store Connect Help, October 23, 2026.

A custom store listing URL

play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fitly.app&listing=yoga&referrer=appy_slug%3Dyoga-spring

  1. play.google.com/store/apps/details

    Google Play

    The standard listing address.

  2. ?id=com.fitly.app

    Package name

Your app’s ID on Google Play.

  3. &listing=yoga

    Custom store listing

The value you typed when you created the listing.

  4. &referrer=appy_slug%3Dyoga-spring

    Install referrer

Added by Appy on every plan, so your app can read which link brought the install.

The id and listing format is from Play Console Help, answer 9156429, October 23, 2026.

One link per campaign

A Meta ad, a creator’s post or a newsletter carries one URL, and it has to work on iPhone and Android alike. So make one Appy link per campaign. The iPhone target is the custom product page URL, the Android target is the custom store listing URL, and the website is the campaign’s landing page for people on a computer. The dashboard accepts any https store URL, and the redirect keeps ppid and listing exactly as you pasted them.

Name the link after the campaign, yoga-spring rather than link-12, and keep it under 30 characters: on Pro the name becomes the App Store campaign name, and 30 is Apple’s limit. If the campaign also reaches people who already have the app, a deep link on the Appy link (Pro) tries the app first.

Where one campaign link sends each tap

One link, four outcomes, and the store page always matches the ad.

appy.to/yoga-spring

in the ad, the bio and on the poster

  • iPhone, in Safari or FacebookThe yoga custom product page, with pt and ct on Pro
  • iPhone, inside Instagram or TikTokA short page that opens the same custom product page through Safari
  • Android phoneThe yoga custom store listing, with appy_slug in the referrer
  • ComputerThe yoga landing page on your website
The ppid, listing and campaign tokens reach the store on every route. Apple Ads and Google Ads pick the page inside the ad tool and don’t need the link.

The deep link field, and why your short link doesn’t belong there

Each custom product page has an optional deep link. App Store Connect Help says that when someone on iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later taps Open on the page, it takes them to specific content in your app. It has to be approved, so you submit the page for review after adding it.

Look at what that covers. In Apple’s developer forums in June 2024, an App Store Connect engineer wrote that it “only changes the URL of the ‘Open’ button on the App Store client.” Open is what people see once the app is installed. In the same thread, developers who installed from the page and then opened the app from the home screen said they never reached the promised screen. Landing a first-time installer there is deferred deep linking, which needs an SDK.

The same help page says: “Avoid using URL shorteners and other services that add unnecessary redirects.” Appy is a redirect, so take that literally: in this field, put your own universal link, such as https://fitly.com/yoga, not an appy.to link. Apple recommends universal links here and suggests a test: paste the URL into Notes and tap it. Apple gives no reason for the shortener rule. Our reading: Open is already one tap from your app, and a redirect can only add a step that fails.

So the two links do different jobs. Your universal link sits inside the App Store, behind Open. The Appy link sits where people tap before they reach a store: ads, bios, emails and QR codes.

Set it up and measure it

Once per campaign. The first two steps wait on each store’s review.

01

Build the custom product page

In App Store Connect, open Custom Product Pages and create one. App Analytics will show the reference name you enter. Add screenshots and promotional text that match the ad, submit the page for review, and copy the URL shown on the page.

02

Build the custom store listing

In Play Console, go to Grow users › Store presence › Custom store listings. Create a listing, target it by unique URL and type the parameter, for example yoga.

03

Create one Appy link

iPhone target: the custom product page URL. Android target: the custom store listing URL. Website: the campaign’s landing page. Link name: the campaign.

04

Add App Store campaign tokens

On Pro, save your App Store provider token in Settings once. Every App Store visit from your links then carries pt, and ct set to the link name, while ppid stays put. On Free, paste the custom product page URL into the free campaign link builder: it adds pt and ct and keeps ppid, and its Google Play side takes the listing value too.

05

Read three reports

Appy shows taps by country, device and store versus website, with bots filtered. App Store Connect shows each page under Analytics › Acquisition › Product Pages after five first-time downloads, and each link under Metrics with the Campaign filter. Play Console shows each listing under Grow users › Store performance › Conversion analysis.

06

Compare within a store

Since July 2026, Play Console’s listing reports lead with clicks on Install, Open or Pre-register. App Store Connect counts downloads, and a page also collects visits from search and Apple Ads that never touched your link. Rank yoga against running inside each store, not across them.

Print and TV get one QR code per page

A poster or a TV spot can’t carry two store URLs either, and a QR code pointing straight at apps.apple.com sends Android phones to a web page they can’t install from. Every Appy link has its own QR code in the dashboard, so the yoga poster scans to the yoga pages and the running poster to the running ones.

Print outlives campaigns. If you turn off the yoga page, Apple sends its URL to your default page. Google doesn’t document what a deleted listing’s URL does, so change the Android target in Appy before you delete one. The printed code keeps pointing at the Appy link, whatever you change behind it.

Custom product pages and custom store listings: questions

Where do I find my custom product page URL?

In App Store Connect, select the app, click Custom Product Pages and open the page. App Store Connect generates the URL when you create the page. It is your App Store URL plus ?ppid= and a UUID.

How many custom product pages can I create?

Up to 70 per app, according to Apple in October 2026. Google Play allows up to 50 custom store listings per app.

What is the listing parameter in a Google Play URL?

It selects a custom store listing: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=your.package&listing=yoga. You choose the value when you create the listing. It must be unique and use only lowercase letters, digits, periods, hyphens, underscores and tildes.

Does the custom product page deep link work for new installs?

Apple documents it for the Open button on iOS 18 and later, which people see once the app is installed. An App Store Connect engineer said in Apple’s forums that it only changes that button’s URL. A first open after install needs deferred deep linking.

Can I use a short link in the custom product page deep link field?

Apple says to avoid URL shorteners and services that add redirects there. Put your universal link in that field, and use short links where people tap: ads, bios, emails and QR codes.

Do custom product pages show up in App Store search?

Only if you assign keywords to them, and only after the page is approved and visible. Otherwise people reach a page through its URL or through Apple Ads.

Can I see App Store downloads per custom product page without an MMP?

Yes. App Store Connect shows each page under Analytics › Acquisition › Product Pages once it has five first-time downloads. For downloads per link as well, add campaign tokens; Appy adds them on Pro.
