Attribution that never guesses
Strict mode credits an install only when the link itself proves where it came from. Everything else stays organic. Made for finance, health and family apps.

Why it matters
Numbers you can defend
When every credited install traces back to a link, your report holds up in a budget meeting, a partner payout or a privacy review.
Every install has a source
Each credited install points to the link, QR code or ad that brought it.
No fingerprint matching
Strict mode never uses device signals to match an install. No fingerprinting, no probabilistic matching.
Payouts without disputes
Reward referrals, partners and creators only for installs Appy can verify.
One switch, no app update
Turn it on for each app in the dashboard. Your links and your app stay as they are.
Built for
Apps that can’t afford a guess
Teams that answer to regulators, patients or parents need numbers they can explain line by line.
Finance
See which campaigns bring new customers, with every credited install backed by proof your compliance team can follow.
Health
Learn which links bring installs without matching anyone by their device.
Kids and family
Measure your links without guessing who installed. It works alongside the consent flow you already run.
How it works
Proof, or organic
Nothing changes for your users. They tap, install and open the app as before.
- 01
Switch on strict mode
Per app, in the dashboard. It applies from the next install.
- 02
Share links as you do today
Campaigns, QR codes, emails, creators and referral links all keep working.
- 03
Read numbers with proof
Installs with proof go to their link. The rest are counted as organic.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to installs Appy can’t verify?
They count as organic. You still see every install; Appy just doesn’t credit a link it can’t prove.
Will we see fewer attributed installs on iPhone?
Yes. The App Store passes nothing from the tap to the app, so most new iPhone installs after a tap count as organic in strict mode. Installs from Apple Ads still count, and every tap that opens an installed app is still delivered and counted. On Android, installs from Google Play and AppGallery keep their link.
Is strict mode a legal sign-off?
No setting can be. Strict mode takes the guesswork out of matching; your privacy team decides what your app needs. The developer docs list what the app sends and how to answer Apple’s and Google Play’s privacy questions.
Do users notice anything?
No. There is no extra prompt and no extra step.
Which plan includes it?
Enterprise, together with the iOS and Android SDK.
